DIY framed agates
I've had this DIY in the back of my mind for a while now, after spotting framed agates all over pinterest. Uncommon Goods is such a great site for uncommon gifts (see what I did there?). I always look there for my Dad because he's so hard to shop for. Well they have the most beautiful set of agate coasters and they were so sweet to send me some for this DIY.
I had some silver frames from my DIY chopstick paintings and I got some mats cut with an 8x8 opening. I shifted the opening in the mat up, so its not centered. Gives a much more custom framed look.
Super easy DIY and aren't the agates gorgeous? Looking for a Mother's Day gift anyone?
The coasters are slightly raised to allow them to sit up off the table and I used the raised surface to super glue them on the mat. Framed it looks gorgeous because it allows light to shine through them and they don't look so flat.

See how pushing the mat off center gives it a more custom look? They are such a fun addition to my bar area and make me happy every time I walk in my front door :-)
